The native app

GopherForge for iPhone and iPad collects no personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no tracking, and no analytics or crash-reporting SDK of any kind. Nothing about your use of the app is sent to the developer.

  • Your work stays on the device by default. Projects, learning progress and settings are stored locally. They leave the device when you choose to export or share project files yourself (for example to the Files app, or through the iOS share sheet), and when they are included in your own device backups (iCloud or local), under your Apple account and settings.
  • Achievements are local. Progress and achievements are computed and stored on device. Game Center is not used.
  • Guest programs have no network. Go programs you write and run in the app cannot make network calls.

Optional network requests

The app works offline for editing, building, running and testing. Network access happens only when you choose an action that needs it, and only the data required for that action is sent — the words you type into package search, module paths and versions, and the repository URL you ask to import. No persistent personal identifier and no account or device identifier is attached to these requests.

  • Package search and metadata: your search words and module paths are sent to deps.dev and api.deps.dev
  • Module downloads and checksums: module paths and versions are sent to proxy.golang.org and sum.golang.org
  • Repository snapshots: the repository URL you import is sent to codeload.github.com

These are third-party HTTPS services operated by others under their own privacy policies. Like any HTTPS server, they can see normal request metadata — your IP address, the time of the request, and what was requested.

This website

This section is about the website only and is separate from the app policy above. The site has no accounts, no forms and no advertising, and it does not ask you for personal data.

The site is served by a third-party hosting platform. Like any hosted website, that platform processes operational and usage metadata to deliver and protect the site — for example IP address, user agent, requested page, timestamps and server or client error reports. The platform also provides aggregated traffic analytics to the site owner, so visits to these pages may be counted in aggregate. This is a property of website hosting; it does not apply to the native app, which contains no analytics or crash-reporting code.

Web fonts are served from this same site, not from a third-party font CDN, so viewing these pages does not send requests to an external font provider.
